Prof Lekan Ayo-Yusuf

Lekan is currently a Professor and the Head of the School of Health Systems and Public Health at the University of Pretoria, having previously served as Dean and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, both at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. He is the Director of the Africa Centre for Tobacco Industry Monitoring and Policy Research (ATIM) and the National Council Against Smoking

Prof Elizeus Rutebemberwa

Elizeus is a Professor of Health Systems Management at Makerere University School of Public Health. He previously worked as a Medical Superintendent and Director of Services in a Health-Sub-District. In addition to teaching, he has conducted extensive research on risk factors for and care seeking for non-communicable diseases

Samantha Filby

Samantha Filby is a Research Officer at the Research Unit on the Economics of Excisable Products in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town, specializing in the economics of tobacco-control policy and tobacco taxation.

Prof Catherine Egbe

Prof Catherine Egbe is a leading figure in mental health and tobacco research, serving as a Senior Specialist Scientist at the South African Medical Research Council. Her work focuses on the intersection of mental health issues and tobacco use, aiming to develop comprehensive strategies for tobacco control. She is also an Associate Professor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, contributing significantly to public health education and policy development.

Dr Peter Omari Magati

A Health and Development Economist

Dr. Peter Omari Magati is a health and development economist specializing in the nexus of tobacco control, taxation, and economic development, particularly concerning vulnerable groups. His work involves analyzing the economic impacts of tobacco farming, evaluating alternative livelihoods, and developing data-driven policy recommendations.

Ezekiel Musasizi

Research Officer at the Centre for Tobacco Control in Africa

Ezekiel Musasizi is the Training Coordinator for the online Certificate course in Tobacco Control. He is a Research Officer at the Centre for Tobacco Control in Africa, Makerere University, specializing in tobacco use cessation, and health policy.
